  • Budget for rush delivery. Not because I enjoy waste, but because I know a machine will fail eventually and the cost of waiting is usually worse.

In our 2024 vendor consolidation project, we reduced from 11 suppliers to 6. But we intentionally kept two sealant distributors. Redundancy isn’t inefficiency; it’s insurance.
