Rush Order Checklist: What to Check Before Buying Adhesives, Epoxy, and Coatings

If you've ever watched a delivery status stay at 'label created' for three days when your line goes down on Monday, you know what I mean. I coordinate rush orders for industrial adhesives, sealants, and coatings. In the past three years, I've processed more than 200 urgent requests. The ones that failed were not the slow ones. They were the uncertain ones.

This checklist is for anyone who needs a material in a week, in a day, or by tomorrow morning, and who needs to avoid a second emergency. Use it when the cost of missing a deadline is real. Don't use it for exploratory research—it's a get-it-done list, not a discovery list. There are six steps. Follow them in order.

Step 1: Name the actual deadline and the true failure cost

Write down the date and time the material has to be in your hands, not the date it has to ship. Include the time zone and the consequence. In March 2024, a client called on Wednesday.
